Time Trial '82 is a minimalist homage to Pole Position where you try and get around a winding track as fast as you can. But be careful -- swerving off the road is not fatal, but it will slow you down and ruin your score, so it may as well be.

Time Trial '82 is my entry to the 2021 Lospec Jam 1. It is designed for the LTRO-1 fantasy console and uses the same control mapping:

D-PAD = Arrow Keys or WASD;     A  = Space;    B = Left Alt;   Start = Enter

Within the game the controls have the following meaning:

  • D-PAD Left / Right -- steer car
  • D-PAD Up -- shift to high gear
  • D-PAD Down -- shift to low gear
  • A -- accelerate
  • Start -- toggle pause

While paused, holding B then pressing A will toggle debugging graphics, and holding left then pressing right will reset your high score.
